The Bologna-IN Project

In the year 2016, the Department of European Studies received the prestigious grant to support an action initiated under the Jean Monnet activities within the Erasmus+ program.

Project Title – EU higher education policy: the BOLOGNA process and internationalization of Indian universities

This project is about providing a platform for a debate and discussion on the policies related to internationalization of higher education. It is focused on the information and dissemination activities related to Bologna process which has set in a new wave of internationalization in European countries by bringing in harmonization.

It would promote the diffusion of EU Higher Education policy in India through multidisciplinary and innovative activities and methodologies such as interactive workshops, website and international conferences. It will also emphasis on enhancing internationalization of Indian academic systems and increase awareness about EU integration process.

Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education

In 2016, Manipal University has bagged the Erasmus+ Capacity Building project to become the only Indian University to receive such grant. The objective is to develop Centre for Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), a teaching-learning methodology.

The project involves many prestigious European and Indian partners such as

University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain),

University of Milano , Italy,

University of Latvia , Latvia

Symbiosis International University, Pune

Pondicherry University, Pondichery

Chitkara University, Chandigarh

The project also has associate partners like Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz (Germany), Italian University Line, Rosie Tanner Education Consultant.

CLIL@India is designed to spread CLIL methodology – directly and indirectly – in Indian secondary schooling.
