Now, who doesn’t like a good story? That is what the courses on European Society and Culture we will be connecting around are all about: stories of people, places, and events, straddled across three millennia, and colorful with both glorious and sordid details. In the process, we attempt to understand the warp and woof of ‘European Studies’, and in doing so, we perhaps develop a widened perspective of the world.

Curiosity, wonder, and preferably, a good night’s sleep are sufficient prerequisites before we meet in class, and when in class, I would love to hear your ‘story’ – your thoughts and viewpoints on what brings us together. The rest is an ‘academic social contract’, and with some heave and smiles, there is no reason why we should not be left with a good story at the end of the course too!
